International Falconry Meet Ireland


13th - 20th November 2016

The Irish Hawking Club is delighted to host a week long International Falconry Meet in conjunction with the 47th Annual Council of Delegates meeting of the International Association of Falconry and Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF). The Falconry Meet will be held in two stages during the week. The first stage to include the IAF council of Delegates meeting will be held in the South-West of Ireland in Sneem, County Kerry between Sunday November 13th and Thursday 17th November. Field Meets will be held each day. There will be a Gala Dinner to celebrate ‘World Falconry Day’ on the evening of Wednesday November 16th. The second stage (optional) of the Falconry Meet takes place in the Irish Midlands between Thursday 17th November and Sunday 20th November. A Conference on ‘The Stewardship of Biodiversity and Sustainable Use’ will be held during this part of the week. Field Meets will take place each day and there will be an opportunity to share in the activities of a local heritage festival. To close the event, there will be a Gala Dinner on the evening of Saturday 19th November.
